Convert feet and inches to centimetres without losing accuracy
Imperial measurements do not convert with round numbers. Keep the original measurement and let the planner convert it.
The basic conversion
One foot equals 30.48 cm and one inch equals 2.54 cm. Write feet and inches down before rounding.
Do not treat 3 m and 10 ft as equal
Ten feet measure 304.8 cm. The difference may look small on a drawing yet matter beside a door or wardrobe.
Round at the end
Use the most precise figure available and round only for presentation. RHYO keeps its internal calculation in centimetres.
